What is the function of Molded Case Circuit Breaker?

Plastic case circuit breaker (using plastic insulator as the shell of the device) is also called a plastic case circuit breaker. It is suitable for use as a protection switch for branch circuits. It can automatically cut off the current after the current exceeds the trip setting and is used to isolate conductors. All parts of the indirect and grounded metal parts are sealed in plastic casings. The auxiliary contact undervoltage release and shunt release are mostly modular. Due to its very compact structure, molded case circuit breakers are basically impossible to repair, so maintenance is generally not considered.

Multi-purpose manual operation, optional electric switch for large capacity. Due to the application of electronic overcurrent tripping, molded case circuit breakers can also be divided into Class A and Class B. Class B has good three-level protection, but due to price factors, Class A products with thermal magnetic release have a higher market share. .

Generally, thermal-magnetic molded case circuit breakers are non-selective circuit breakers and have only two protection modes: overload long-time delay and short-circuit instantaneous. Most molded case circuit breakers are operated by manual control, and some important parts have electric motors that can operate the operating mechanism.
